Wednesday Wanderings: Last Day of January

It’s January 31st. Thank goodness.

#Januarygenerallysucks

Ain’t that the truth?? it’s been a long month. I got sick at the beginning of the month and still haven’t fully recovered. The “100 Day Cough” is on Day 27 for me. And my energy level has not recovered either. I was supposed to do a challenge this month dealing with exercise and nutrition. Needless to say, that went out the window.

I’m watching the Iowa Women’s Basketball game on Peacock, something I said I’d never do.

#but

Always a but. It’s hard not to when you’ve got the best player in basketball playing in Caitlin Clark. It fun to see these games, but why should I pay for another streaming service. No, it’s not expensive, but when you start adding all these services up, it suddenly matches what cable or dish would be.

Our athletic boosters will have a basketball tournament in February. I put out an email to our team today and got 8 girls to sign up. Honestly, they were pretty much all the girls I wanted to sign up. We’ll have a tough team with speed and a tiny bit of size (we’ll have three girls who are 5’0 or shorter so size is a relative thing). I’m excited to get this team together a few times and see what we can do!

It’s the last day of January and it was 50 degrees. This is spring weather, not the end of January. Not that I’ll complain because two weeks ago, it was miserably cold and snowy. The temperature will be 45 – 50 degrees tomorrow, so most of our snow will be gone.

All in all, I’ll be happy to see January move it. It’s cold, dark, gloomy, and just ick as a month. While it’s my parents’ anniversary, it’s hard to celebrate this month.

Except to celebrate when it’s done! 🙂

Oh, Iowa won and put up 110 points. Man, I love this team!
