Position
Summary

The Graduate school of Education (GSE) at the
University at Buffalo (UB) is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Scholar for the UB Teacher Residency Program (UBTR). The Graduate school of
Education is committed to fostering an equitable, diverse, just and inclusive environment. We seek individuals who have a demonstrated
history of community-based advocacy and engagement in efforts to achieve equity, inclusivity and justice. As an extension of this
commitment, the UB Teacher Residency program offers an accelerated, innovative, one-year initial teacher certification program for
individuals who are committed to transformational teaching in public schools in Buffalo and WNY.

The postdoctoral scholar
duties will include but not limited to:

  • Working collaboratively with the Director, Assistant Directors, university
faculty, and partner districts in conducting quantitative and mixed-methods research focused on pre-service teacher development as well as
post-graduation student-level outcomes in classrooms led by program graduates. We seek to understand the impact of program pathways on
pre-service teacher development, student-level outcomes (academic, attendance, disciplinary referrals, etc.) in classrooms led by early
career teachers and program mentors, and school-level metrics. Additional research questions are organized around understanding the impact
of teacher demographics on student-level outcomes in P12 classrooms.
  • Participate in design, data collection (or coordination with
district partners to gather existing data), analysis, and publication of findings.
  • Support the preparation of grant
    reports.
